When owner Eric Gershey launched Fun Bags Cornhole Lounge in September 2022, the objective was clear: provide Ocean County residents with a space to enjoy cornhole beyond the typical backyard barbecues and summer weekends. However, it quickly became evident that the idea could encompass much more.

“I soon realized this could be so much more than just casual cornhole,” Gershey remarked. “It’s about uniting people – families, friends, coworkers – and fostering a space where the community can connect.”

Currently, Fun Bags Cornhole Lounge has evolved into a comprehensive private event venue in Ocean County, NJ, offering much more than just recreational play. The venue conducts competitive leagues for participants of all skill levels, including a special needs league that Gershey notes is one of the most significant aspects of the business.

“That league is something I’m immensely proud of,” he stated. “Witnessing families come together and watching players gain confidence each week – that’s what this is truly about.”

In addition to league activities, Fun Bags has emerged as a versatile event space for birthday celebrations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, corporate team-building activities, fundraisers, and private gatherings. Companies such as Walmart, Walgreens, and Frito-Lay have held events at the venue, while local organizations frequently utilize the space for charity tournaments and award ceremonies.

The indoor entertainment venue in Toms River, NJ also features a dynamic schedule of live and themed events. Comedy performances, live rock bands, line dancing evenings, dart competitions, beer pong tournaments, speed dating events, and networking gatherings routinely transform the open layout into something fresh and exciting.

On select Sundays, cornhole boards are moved aside to create a dance floor. On other evenings, cheers resonate during tournaments or as punchlines land during a comedy routine.
