Global education company Kaplan today announced that its All Access License has been selected as the winner of the “Test Prep Solution of the Year” award in the 8th annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global educational technology market. Kaplan was also the “Test Prep Innovation of the Year” category winner in the EdTech Breakthrough Awards program in 2025, 2024, and 2023.
Kaplan’s All Access License enables colleges and universities to provide all of their students with access to the company’s industry-leading test prep for admissions exams, licensure, credentialing programs, and workforce readiness programs with zero out-of-pocket costs for students. Covered exams include the GRE®, GMAT®, LSAT®, MCAT®, NCLEX-RN®, USMLE®, Uniform Bar Exam®, and Certified Financial Planner®, among many others. Since Kaplan’s All Access License was launched in 2022, tens of thousands of students have collectively saved more than $75 million in out-of-pocket costs for these programs.
Among the many institutional partners of Kaplan’s All Access License are: Cleveland State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Howard University, Spelman College, South Carolina State University, Syracuse University College of Law, University of Dayton School of Law. At the government level, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, has contracted Kaplan to provide test prep and skills development courses to all students enrolled in Illinois’ 12 public universities; five Illinois community colleges are also included as part of a pilot program.
Julia Larkin, vice president, university partnerships, Kaplan, said:
“Kaplan is proud that our All Access License has been recognized as ‘Test Prep Solution of the Year’ by EdTech Breakthrough. This honor reflects our commitment to expanding opportunity and improving student outcomes through innovative partnerships with future-focused colleges, universities, and governments. By providing access to test preparation and workforce readiness programs at no out-of-pocket costs to students, we are helping them build the skills, confidence, and credentials they need for long-term academic and career success. Future engineers, educators, doctors, nurses, lawyers, cybersecurity experts, and many other aspiring professionals can all benefit from this. Together with our partners, we have an opportunity to create more pathways to prosperity for learners of all backgrounds. We look forward to welcoming even more All Access License students into our classrooms in the months and years to come.”
Steve Johansson, managing director, EdTech Breakthrough, said:
“No other organization can match the breadth and depth of test prep like Kaplan. Increased test scores mean higher chances for scholarships and admission to target schools. However, prep for graduate admissions exams, licensure, credentials, and workforce readiness programs is expensive, putting low-income, rural, or first-generation students on a non-level playing field. Kaplan’s program enhances student support and ensures students are ready for the next step after graduation. It’s creating new pathways to medical, graduate, and law school and helping students pass licensure exams to become nurses, teachers, or engineers.”
The EdTech Breakthrough Awards program returned for its 8th annual cycle with its largest and most competitive field yet, drawing a record number of nominations from innovators across more than 20 countries. The program is dedicated to recognizing breakthrough educational technology products and companies reshaping how the world learns, in classrooms, campuses, boardrooms, and beyond.
