Jeffrey G. Tauth, M.D., F.A.C.C., a board-certified interventional cardiologist, has announced that Hot Springs Heart and Vascular and the Vascular Center of Hot Springs now offer the full continuum of coronary artery disease care under one practice, from initial evaluation through intervention and long-term management.
The announcement follows the April 2026 opening of the Vascular Center of Hot Springs, the first cardiovascular ambulatory surgical center in central Arkansas. With the ASC now fully operational, patients with coronary artery disease can receive diagnostic testing, cardiac catheterization, stent procedures, and follow-up care without leaving Dr. Tauth’s practice or being referred into a hospital system.
“What has changed is that the entire care pathway now exists within one independent practice,” said Dr. Tauth. “A patient can come in with chest pain, complete their diagnostic workup, have a procedure if one is needed, and continue their long-term cardiac management here. Nothing has to be handed off.”
Dr. Tauth treats two distinct coronary artery disease patient populations at the practice. The first includes patients presenting with symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or reduced exercise tolerance who have not yet received a formal CAD diagnosis. The second includes patients with established coronary artery disease who have previously experienced a heart attack, undergone bypass surgery, or had a stent placed and require ongoing cardiac management and monitoring.
He performs more cardiac stent procedures than any other cardiologist in the Hot Springs area. Stenting is a catheter-based procedure in which a small mesh tube is placed inside a narrowed coronary artery to restore blood flow. Because the Vascular Center of Hot Springs operates independently of any hospital system, Dr. Tauth said the practice can source devices from multiple manufacturers, rather than being limited by institutional purchasing agreements.
Hot Springs Heart and Vascular performs all diagnostic testing in-clinic, including stress testing, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiac imaging. Patients do not need to be referred to outside facilities for testing before a treatment plan can be established. Results are reviewed by Dr. Tauth directly, and when testing indicates that an intervention is needed, it can be scheduled at the Vascular Center of Hot Springs without the patient being transferred to a separate system.
“The patients I see who have already had a heart attack or a prior stent are not finished with their cardiac care,” said Dr. Tauth. “They are at the beginning of a long management process, and having a physician and a facility that can handle every part of that process matters.”
The practice also maintains a satellite clinic in Mena, Arkansas, where Dr. Tauth has provided cardiovascular care for more than 25 years. Patients evaluated at the Mena location who require cardiac catheterization or stenting are scheduled at the Hot Springs facility without a change in physician or practice.
Patients and referring physicians in central and western Arkansas can contact Hot Springs Heart and Vascular directly by phone, where calls are answered by clinic staff rather than an automated system. Dr. Tauth sees patients with active cardiac symptoms the same day they call.
With the Vascular Center of Hot Springs now fully operational, central Arkansas patients have access to coronary artery disease care that does not require navigating multiple facilities or physicians. The practice is accepting new patients and referrals from primary care physicians throughout the region.
