Historic collaboration marks TEMPO Networks’ 21st Anniversary and bridges Africa & the Caribbean through culture, media, tourism and creative industries.
NEWARK, NJ, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — TEMPO Networks, the Caribbean’s premier television and digital media company, today announced the official launch of TEMPO Africa, a landmark initiative expanding the company’s presence to the African continent through a strategic partnership with Lusaka Carnival 2026 in Zambia.
The announcement marks one of the most significant milestones in TEMPO’s history as the company celebrates its 21st Anniversary, opening an exciting new chapter that strengthens cultural, commercial and creative connections between Africa and the Caribbean.
Under the partnership, TEMPO Networks has been appointed the Official & Exclusive Strategic Caribbean Partner of Lusaka Carnival, a new annual festival taking place in Lusaka, Zambia, on 20-21 November 2026. Through this multi-year collaboration, TEMPO will lead the Festival’s Caribbean strategy by facilitating Caribbean artist engagement, media promotion, marketing initiatives, cultural partnerships and long-term strategic development, supporting Lusaka Carnival’s vision of becoming Africa’s premier destination for Caribbean Carnival, music, culture and entertainment.
Located in the heart of Southern Africa, Zambia is celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality and extraordinary natural beauty. Home to the world-renowned Victoria Falls, the mighty Zambezi River and some of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife experiences, Zambia has emerged as one of the continent’s most exciting tourism destinations and provides an ideal gateway for TEMPO’s expansion into Africa.
As Lusaka Carnival grows, TEMPO Networks will work alongside Festival organizers to introduce leading Caribbean artists, performers, creatives and cultural experiences to Zambia, creating an authentic Caribbean presence while fostering long-term artistic, cultural and commercial exchange between Africa and the Caribbean.
Lusaka Carnival is presented by ZOCA Dance Limited, a Zambian dance and cultural organization that has served communities through dance education, performances and cultural programming for more than 17 years, in partnership with Barefeet Theatre Zambia, one of Zambia’s leading performing arts organizations celebrating its 20th Anniversary. The Festival is powered by Zamtel, a leading telecommunications company in Zambia, whose investment reflects its commitment to innovation, connectivity and the continued growth of Zambia’s creative economy.
The collaboration is governed by a multi-year Strategic Caribbean Partnership Agreement, establishing TEMPO Networks as Lusaka Carnival’s Official & Exclusive Strategic Caribbean Partner and providing the framework for long-term cooperation in Caribbean artist development, media production, destination marketing, cultural exchange and strategic initiatives designed to expand the Festival’s international profile.
“This is much bigger than a festival,” said Frederick A. Morton, Jr., Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TEMPO Networks. “For twenty-one years, TEMPO has proudly shared the music, stories, culture and spirit of the Caribbean with audiences around the world. As we celebrate this milestone, launching TEMPO Africa is both a business achievement and a deeply meaningful cultural journey. Africa is not simply another market for TEMPO. It is family, history and possibility. Twenty-one years after launching TEMPO for the Caribbean, we are proud to begin writing the next chapter of our story in Africa.”
Namaala Liebenthal, Zambian entrepreneur, and founder of ZOCA Dance, welcomed the partnership as a defining moment for Lusaka Carnival. “Lusaka Carnival was created to celebrate Zambia’s culture while opening new doors to the world. Our partnership with TEMPO Networks brings together two regions connected by history, creativity and a shared love of music and celebration. TEMPO brings more than two decades of Caribbean media leadership, cultural credibility and industry relationships to our vision. We are honored to partner with TEMPO as it launches TEMPO Africa and look forward to building a lasting cultural bridge between Zambia and the Caribbean.”
Over the coming months, TEMPO Networks will launch an extensive Caribbean-wide promotional campaign across its television network, digital platforms and social media channels, introducing millions of viewers to Zambia, Lusaka Carnival and the Festival’s vision of celebrating the traditions of Caribbean Carnival while showcasing Zambia’s own vibrant culture and creative identity.
While the partnership begins with Lusaka Carnival, both organizations envision a much broader relationship encompassing media production, cultural exchange, tourism promotion, business collaboration and creative industry development. Together, they aim to establish a sustainable platform that creates meaningful opportunities for artists, entrepreneurs, tourism stakeholders and audiences throughout Africa and the Caribbean for years to come.
