Dr. Bernard earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, graduating magna cum laude. She received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Following medical school, Dr. Bernard’s training continued with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina, where she served as Education Chief Resident and received the Golden Tar Heel Teaching Award for three consecutive years. She completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Bernard’s clinical interests span fertility preservation, optimizing fertility outcomes, patient education, and the impact of environmental exposures on reproductive health. During fellowship, she received a Charles Hammond Research Fund Award for her work on environmental influences on endometrial health. For Dr. Bernard, one of the most rewarding aspects of reproductive medicine is guiding patients through some of life’s most important decisions. She provides compassionate, individualized care, and helps patients achieve their family-building goals.
