Windward Risk Managers Promotes Cindy Murphy to Chief Accounting Officer
In her new role, Murphy will continue to provide leadership across the organization’s accounting and finance functions, with responsibility for financial reporting, accounting operations, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and financial governance. She will also continue to play a key role in supporting the organization’s broader financial strategy and long-term growth objectives.
Murphy has been a key member of the organization’s finance leadership team for more than two decades. Since joining the company as Corporate Controller in 2005, she has helped guide the financial operations supporting Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Edison Insurance Company, and Ovation Home Insurance Exchange through periods of growth, market change, and operational expansion. She was promoted to Vice President of Finance in 2021 and later to Senior Vice President of Finance, where she oversaw financial accounting, reporting, planning, treasury, and regulatory reporting activities.
Throughout her tenure, Murphy has played a leading role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing reporting processes, supporting audit governance, and developing the finance team. Her leadership has helped ensure the organization maintains the financial discipline and operational framework necessary to support the carriers it manages.

Murphy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Aurora University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has more than 25 years of accounting and finance leadership experience and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Illinois CPA Society.
